This is my first blog post in a few years. In person plus continued virtual work has been all consuming.
Most private lessons are on Mondays now and when not traveling, I work as a therapeutic. musician two days a week at Georgetown MedStar as part of the Georgetown Lombardi's Arts and Humanities Program. The other days are devoted to gig-related activities. After months of a steady stream of gigs and travel, I have a quiet summer. Which has given me enough time to reflect on an upcoming anniversary. Next March I will have played the hammered dulcimer for 50 years! when I built one as a high school project (to avoid writing a long paper), I never envisioned it would lead me to travel round the world and become my profession.
To mark this anniversary I am starting to explore doing one more recording. With sales from recordings tanking, I really hadn't thought much about another one. There will be a crowdfunder. I do have a working title. Although this will primarily be solo and still wellness oriented, I plan to have some tracks with guest musicians.
Stay tuned for updates and old photos!
