Paul Goes in the Studio

This Saturday Paul joins me at Tonal Park to record at least two of the pieces he'll be on.  He's on 3 sets, of course all on different instruments: The Ukrainian lullaby the Dream Passes by the Window/Manx Lullaby  with cittern; Hands of the Healer with his Sedgwick harp guitar in DADGAD ; and By Yon Castle Wa'/She's Sweetest (…When She's Naked-referring to whiskey not a woman!) on his Dyer harp guitar. I'm in love with music again–his parts sound so beautiful with the dulcimer!

Then I'll be doing a day of solo recording on Sunday.  It's a real pleasure to finally record on a Nick Blanton Forte with its rich bass. I altered the standard tuning so that I can have a low C2, D2 or E2, depending on the key. (I had to sacrifice a low chromatic for the extra bass note but I can always retune for the chromatic.) I'll have 9-10 out of 14 tracks recorded by this weekend. I'll finish recording the final tracks mid-February.

Progress!!
