I applied for a Maryland State Arts Council Creativity Grant of $4000. My application was just 3 points (out of 100) short of receiving it. I can try and tweak the application and reapply, but it will be another few months before I hear. If I don't receive it, I'll be trying to raise $11,000 instead of $8,000 through this crowdfunding drive. That feels a lot harder. I've been touched and surprised at the generosity so far and some of the folks who have given. It's still early but I've raised enough money to more than cover my out of pocket costs for this year, when I record with the cellist Sophie Chang at the end of November.
I've made postcards for our Tennessee-Kansas tour this month. Hope to get some new pre-orders/donations!
