Oven
Fries
Cut
Idaho potatoes into long, thin sticks. Coat with oil (olive
oil is good), a little salt. Optional pepper, paprika
and other herbs. Bake at 450 degrees for about 40 minutes
or until done.
When I was 10, my father had a summer sabbatical in Scotland.
We learned this recipe from the wife of the local minister in
Crail, the little fishing village we lived in. I have never
found a better one.

MacIntyre's Scones
Preheat
oven to 450 degrees
2
c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder,
2 T. butter or margarine
1/4 c. sugar, 1 beaten egg
1/2 c. less 1 T. milk
Sift
flour and baking powder. Rub in the butter. Mix in sugar,
egg and enough milk to make a softish dough. Roll out and
cut into rounds (I use a glass to make the circles). Place
on a greased & floured baking tin and brush over with
egg or milk, if like. Bake for 7-10 min. Serve hot with
jam and clotted cream or whipped cream.
